JASON PAUL ANNOUNCES CAMPAIGN FOR DNC CHAIR
Newton, Massachusetts—Jason Paul, an attorney and political strategist, announced Thursday that he is running to be the next chair of the Democratic National Committee.
“What we’re doing now simply isn’t working,” said Paul. “We have lost three of the last five national elections; we can’t continue the same approach and expect a better result.”
Paul is running on a far-reaching plan to rethink virtually everything about how the party currently operates, from fundraising to candidate recruitment to what Americans can expect from the party.
“I’m asking DNC members, and my fellow Democrats, to expand their understanding of what’s possible,” said Paul. “We must switch from tweaking the status quo to a moonshot mindset—what is it going to take to build a durable Democratic majority in this country? And then we need to do that.”
Over the course of the next two months, Paul will roll out a series of new ideas that go further than any other candidate in the race to remake the Democratic Party from an operational standpoint.
One plan he’s already announced is to stem the flood of fundraising text messages received by small-dollar donors.
“We need to stop the damn texts,” said Paul. “If you had a friend who asked you ten times a day for money, how long would that person remain your friend? The Democratic Party needs to stop treating its most loyal supporters as ATM machines and start treating them like the partners they should be.”
Paul, 38, is an experienced strategist who has led campaigns to victory on both the local and state level in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Maine. He is also the author of Trench Warfare Politics in the Tinder Era, a book about how we got where we are and how to get where we want to go.
Paul has a bachelor's degree from Brandeis University and a law degree from the University of Connecticut.
An executive member of the Newton Democratic City Committee, Paul lives and works in Newton, Massachusetts.

Just watched you on Destiny, really enjoyed listening to you. Whether or not you win (good luck), everything you said about the subscription model and not constantly bombarding (seemingly) the same people over and over again sounds like an ABSOLUTE MUST.
As a Canadian, who will soon face some similar, and unique challenges with our own upcoming conservative administration. I really appreciate learning more and more about the upcoming rebuild of the Democratic Party, as lots of these ideas could really help your Democratic friends across the world (or just slightly north of y’all)
